Hello!

I’m Sam, I am an Antenatal Educator, Doula, Breastfeeding Peer Supporter, Hypnobirthing Instructor and founder of The Perinatal Academy.

After I birthed my daughter I became completely obsessed with birth and supporting parents through this major life transition. After my own training journey, I knew exactly what I wanted to create for other people like me who want to begin a new path and career supporting parents. That is modern, inclusive education with real depth, and most importantly, long-term support while you're actually in your community doing the work.

When you choose our training, we won’t tell you to just ‘manifest your birth business’. We give you launch strategies, SEO training, marketing workshops AI guidance, a step by step business course (on top of the core training) business mentorship and so much more!

Becoming a birth worker isn’t simply about just completing a course and receiving a certificate. It’s about developing the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to support families well, finding the courage to begin, and continuing to grow throughout your career. That’s why our training is designed around four stages:

Learn deeply:

Build a strong foundation in evidence, physiology, communication and critical thinking. We won’t simply teach you what to say. We’ll help you understand the subject deeply enough to think, question and support families with confidence.

Grow in confidence:

Knowledge matters, but confidence grows through discussion, reflection, feedback and practice. You’ll be supported by experienced mentors as you begin to develop your own voice, values and identity as a birth worker.

Launch successfully:

Qualifying is only the beginning! We’ll help you turn your training into real work, with practical support around marketing, pricing, finding clients and building a birth business that works for you.

Keep growing

Our courses are built from lived experience, as well as textbooks. Every educator is actively working with families right now, which means what you learn is relevant, current and rooted in real practice. We teach you how this work actually looks and feels, with ongoing support and mentoring from our amazing team who have stood in your shoes!
You are not left to figure things out on your own. Alongside your training you’ll receive guided mentoring, space to reflect, ask questions and grow in confidence. Support continues long after your course ends, through our community and collective spaces.
Your certification is accredited by FEDANT, an internationally recognised body, meaning your qualification is respected both within the UK and overseas.
This work is personal as well as professional. Many students begin the course thinking they are learning skills, and leave having experienced their own growth too.

Our Doula Training and Antenatal Diploma have accreditation from FEDANT a UK-based regulatory body for antenatal educators, breastfeeding counselors, and doulas.

What this means for you is you can be satisfied that our course content is of a really high standard, you will be able to sign up to the national register so parents can search for you, plus you have access to lower insurance rates.
